About Candlune
What exactly is Candlune?
Candlune is a trading replay trainer. It takes real historical market data and plays it back one candle at a time, so you can practise making trading decisions without knowing what the market does next. Every simulated trade you place is automatically logged into a journal with analytics.
Why does Candlune exist?
Because watching trading content — videos, courses, livestreams — is not the same as practising trading. The mechanics of a trade are learnable from a video. The decision-making under uncertainty, the discipline, the pattern recognition — those only come from doing it. Candlune exists to give traders a place to do it, without the cost of learning on live capital.
Who is Candlune built for?
Primarily for beginner to intermediate traders who want structured practice before considering live trading, or who want to test a strategy without risking real money. It's also used by traders who've been live but want to practise a new setup or timeframe in simulation first.
The Data
Is the data real, or is it simulated?
Candlune uses historical XAUUSD market data from its data provider to construct replay candles. The trades you place in Candlune are simulated, and spot-market prices can vary by venue or provider.
How far back does the data go?
January 2021 through March 2026. That covers post-pandemic volatility, rising inflation environments, rate-hike cycles, and geopolitical events. You won't run out of varied conditions to practise on.
How often is new data added?
Historical data is updated regularly so the most recent market sessions are available for replay relatively soon after they occur.
Using the Platform
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Candlune runs entirely in your browser. There's nothing to install, no app to download, and no compatibility requirements beyond an up-to-date browser. Your journal is synced to the cloud, so you can access your trade history from any device.
How do I place a trade?
Press Space to pause or step forward. Use Shift+B for buy, Shift+S for sell, and C to close an active trade. Use B for the Box drawing tool.
Can I use drawing tools and indicators?
Yes. Candlune includes drawing tools (rectangles, zones) and two indicators: configurable EMA and VWAP. The interface is intentionally minimal — these are the tools that most serious intraday traders actually use.
Can I replay the same session more than once?
Yes. You can replay any session as many times as you like. Some traders find it useful to replay the same date on different timeframes to see how the structure looks across multiple views.
The Journal & Analytics
What does the journal track automatically?
Every trade is logged with: entry price, exit price, trade direction, result (profit or loss), the date and timeframe of the session, and trade duration. You can also add setup type, market bias, session tags, execution notes, and confidence scores.
What analytics does Candlune provide?
The analytics dashboard shows: win rate (overall and by timeframe), equity curve plotted over time, daily P&L breakdown with calendar view, setup breakdown by type, and your best and worst trades. You can filter by daily, weekly, monthly, or overall periods.
Can I add notes to my trades?
Yes. You can add free-text notes to any trade after it closes — useful for tagging your setup type, noting what you saw, or flagging trades you want to review later.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your trade journal, session history, and notes are private to your account. Candlune does not sell user trade data or use it for advertising; service providers process it only to operate Candlune, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Comparison with Alternatives
How is Candlune different from paper trading on my broker?
Broker paper trading tools vary by broker and are usually designed around a brokerage workflow. Candlune is focused on historical replay, simulated trade logging, journaling, and review in one place.
How is Candlune different from TradingView's bar replay?
TradingView is a broad charting platform. Candlune is designed specifically around historical replay plus simulated trade logging, journaling, and review.
How is Candlune different from buying a trading course?
A course teaches frameworks and concepts. Candlune gives you a simulated place to practise and review whether you can apply your own rules consistently. They are not substitutes.
Pricing & Account
How much does Candlune cost?
Starter is $7/month, Pro is $19/month, and Ultimate is $49/month. Starter and Pro include a 3-day trial after Stripe payment setup. Ultimate does not include a free trial.
Is there a permanent free plan?
No. Candlune has a no-signup demo so you can inspect the workflow first, but saved replay sessions, journaling, and analytics require a paid plan after any eligible trial.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel anytime from Account > Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Cancellation does not automatically delete your account data. If you cancel and return later, your trade history, journal notes, and analytics normally remain attached to your account, subject to our Privacy Policy and any deletion request you make.
What markets are available right now?
Currently Gold (XAUUSD) across all 7 timeframes. Additional markets are planned, but no launch dates are promised yet.
